SI Bombay Chembur associated with the Woman Development Cell of Pillai HOC College of Arts, Commerce and Science to organise a workshop on ‘Self Defence and Martial Arts’ on the occasion of International Women’s Day on 8th March, 2019. The facilitator for this session was Mr. Bhupendra Gaikwad, a trained martial art expert and trainer at various centers across Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. He demonstrated the basic moves any female can use in case of an emergency and how every little piece of jewellery she carries can be used as a potential defence weapon in case of an emergency.

This was then followed by an ‘Expert Talk’ by Ayurvedic Health Expert, Mr. Haridwar Patil. He spoke on Health and Hygiene for Women discussed about the routine women should follow to keep themselves free of diseases and infections especially during menstrual cycle.

Around 50 female faculty members attended this session.
