World Food Day, International Day for the Eradication of Poverty
With a pledge to reduce poverty and hunger SI Bombay Chembur organised ‘Fistful of Grains’ drive in collaboration with edukidz INTERNATIONAL Preschool, Tilaknagar and Pillai College of Education and Research Chembur, on 16th and 17th October respectively.

On 16th October we observed the ‘World Food Day’ and the ‘International Day for the Eradication of Poverty’, which are celebrated on the 16th and 17th of October every year across the globe. The event was an attempt to raise awareness among children of edukidz INTERNATIONAL towards the struggle of those living in poverty. Students, staff and SIBC members donated small amounts of rice and daal. The entire collection was then donated to the local shelter homes near the schools.
This project helped sensitize the students towards the problem of hunger and also how, little acts of charity can go a long way to bring a smile on someone. It brought to the kids of edukidz INTERNATIONAL, the value of empathy, kindness and support to the needy by organizing this ‘Fistful of Grains’ drive.
