SI Bombay Chembur in association with Pillai College of Education & Research, Chembur organised a Session on Organ Donation by ROTTO-SOTTO (Regional cum State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization), with an aim to raise awareness about Organ Donation among the students of education.

The Resource Person for the event was Ms. Sujata Ashtekar. She addressed common myths and misconceptions and enlightened on the medical, legal, and ethical aspects of organ donation. Ms. Ashtekar explained the Human Transplant Act of 1994 and the structure of NOTTO, ROTTO, and SOTTO. She went on to describe the process of transplantation and stressed how it saves lives and improves the quality of life for patients suffering from end-stage organ failure. She also highlighted the importance of cornea and skin donation.
