Soroptimist International Bombay Chembur was an active participant in the various activities conducted during Community Service Day 2012, which was observed on 1st February 2012 by Mahatma Education Society’s Pillai group of institutions. A donation of Rs.8,500 was made to support the various charitable causes associated with the event.

This year 40 inmates from various homes for the aged from Shantivan area and 40 slum children from Jeevan Jyothi Charitable Trust were invited to spend the day at Dr. K M Vasudevan Pillai Campus. A health camp for the aged and activities filled with learning and fun were conducted for the children. Members from Soroptimist International Chembur interacted with the children and elderly and helped conduct the various activities for the visitors.
