International Women’s Day 2020
To commemorate International Women’s Day, SI Bombay Chembur in association with Pillai College of Education and research, Chembur conducted a Street-play Competition for B.Ed. students on the 13th March, 2020.
The Chief Guest for the event was Ms. Suprada Phaterpekar, the ex-Municipal Corporator of Chembur and a Shiv Sena leader. The competition was judged by Soroptimists Ms. Parveen Arif and Ms. Preeti Pawar.
The students presented three plays on the topic of Domestic Violence, Gender Equality and Fight against Tobacco and Alcohol. It was a great learning experience for all. The objective of the competitions was to raise awareness on gender equality and issues related to women in our society.
SI Bombay Chembur conducted a Self Defence Workshop for the girl students of Chembur English Junior College on 7th March, 2020 to mark the International Women’s Day. The resource person for the session was Mr Mayur Bansode, Chairman of Mixed Martial Arts Association of India.
The girls were taught various techniques of Self Defence and ways to tackle one or more than one attacker.
