Soroptimist International Bombay Chembur (SIBC), in collaboration with MES’s Pillai College of Education and Research (Autonomous), Chembur, organised a two day Jumble Sale on 15th and 16th October 2026 at the MES’s Chembur Campus. The main aim of the event was to raise funds for the various charitable activities carried out by SIBC. The sale was inaugurated by the Founder President of SIBC, Dr. Daphne Pillai.
A variety of items, such as clothes, shoes, jewellery, curtains, bedsheets, books, bags, games, and other household articles, were collected in good condition and put up for sale at very low prices. The sale attracted many visitors who were happy to purchase useful items at affordable prices, especially before the festive season. The jumble sale raised a total of ₹73,460, which will support the various charitable activities undertaken by SIBC.
This event was managed by members of SIBC and the volunteers from Pillai College of Education and Research, Chembur. The event also provided an opportunity for people from nearby underprivileged communities to buy essential items at low prices. The Jumble Sale was a meaningful initiative that encouraged reuse, helped reduce waste, and supported the charitable work of SIBC.
