Outing for Sadhana Vidyalaya for the Deaf
The physically challenged students of Sadhana Vidyalaya for the Deaf were taken for an excursion to SanjayGandhi National Park on 3rd December 2017. 62 students and teachers participated in the excursion. A bus was arranged to take them from their school in Dadar to the park in Borivali. The students were very excited about the prospect of seeing many animals especially the tiger reserve. After the bus reached the park, the students were first taken to the various points at the park to see and understand the habitats of wild animals. This was followed by a jeep ride to the tiger reserve. They clicked many picture of the tigers and other animals in the various enclosures. After lunch the children were entertained by the Soroptimists with various games and prizes were distributed. The Principal, faculty members and students were very grateful for the visit as it was the first time that they had visited this popular picnic spot. SIBC members also presented a cheque for Rs. 5000 towards the education of Saniya Jadhav, a student of the school whose education was being sponsored by SiBC over the past few years. Soroptimist members, Mrs. Seeta Desai and Dr. Celina Joy co-ordinated this activity.
