Project ASHA is our recurring programme in which every year we help micro-financing women entrepreneurs from the marginalised communities to assist them in setting up their micro-scale businesses. This year, we were able to further top up our contribution with generous donations from our member Ms. Namita Kafalia as well as from IWFCI – International Women’s Federation of Commerce and Industries, India National Chapter.
In all we donated Rs. 5,000/- each to four women, variously engaged in beautician start-up, vegetable vendor, vada pav selling, and fruit business. In a humble ceremony at Don Bosco Nerul, the cheques were distributed to the beneficiaries by SIBC President Preeti Pawar and IWFCI President Dr. Daphne Pillai.
