SIBC observed International Women’s Day 2019 by conferring the Soroptimist Excellence Award 2019 on Ms. Jyoti Mhapsekar, Co-Founder and President of Stree Mukti Sanghatana. A trophy, citation and a cheque for Rs. 10,000 was presented to her Speaking on the occasion Ms. Mhapsekar urged the audience to volunteer and participate in social service initiatives. She also spoke on environmental issues and urged teacher to include waste management in their teaching syllabus. She also shared a wonderful narrative of the journey of Stree Mukti Sanghatana. Over 100 teachers and students were present for this event.
