On 8th October, 2024, SI Bombay Chembur kick-started the second annual cycle of PROJECT PANKH –
a long term project of a series of workshop for the teachers and students of the municipal school, Gyanjyoti Savitribai Phule Shala, Podi 2, New Panvel for the overall holistic development of the school.

This is a collaborative effort with Pillai Institute of Management Studies and Research, in which the student and teacher volunteers along with members of SIBC visited the school on a weekly basis between October 2024 and March 2025 and offered workshop sessions designed with a focus on improving literacy and language skills, teaching craft skills, providing skills for economic empowerment, awareness on personal development, addressing mental health and personal safety measures.

The 2024-25 cycle of the project concluded on 5th March, 2025 in a ceremony where the students demonstrated their tangible improvements in language and communication skills. Dr. Celina Joy, PAC of SIBC and co-ordinator of the project along with Prof. Krushna R. Sawant encouraged the collaborative spirit of the volunteers and emphasized the power of community support. The day concluded with the distribution of colourful gifts as a recognition of their hard work and dedication which left a smile on all of their faces.

The Project “PANKH” Initiative has made a meaningful impact on the lives of over 90 students of the school.
